American cuisine with fresh ingredients, unique dishes, full flavors in a comfortable setting was the dream of Andy and Tammie Gruenhagen.  

Opening initially just serving breakfast and lunch,  with a limited menu and counter service - and with the help of their devoted customers - Cafe Indigo soon evolved to what it is today

Regulars knew of our delicious breakfast pastries, egg dishes and hearty lunch sandwiches, and we were repeatedly told that Cafe Indigo was the Quad City's best-kept secret. However, the menu was a bit limited and we were ready for a change.  Andy had graduated from the Iowa Culinary Institute, and his wife had attended the culinary program at Scott Community College.  After working for several local restaurants, the Gruenhagen's seized the opportunity to open Cafe Indigo in January of 2007.   

 However, once word got out that the quality and unique dishes that made Cafe Indigo such a favorite would continue, Cafe Indigo became the Quad City's not so best kept secret.

Located "in a strip-mall-esk" building, with hidden charm and changing seasonal menu, Cafe Indigo evolved to what it is today.  Serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, with unique dishes, micro-brews, ever growing wine list and fun winetini's'.  You can enjoy the beautiful scenery dining on the patio, or the unique ambiance of our dining room. Either way, you'll see why everyone is lining up to get a taste of Cafe Indigo.
